Welcome back to Me Again, God. If you listened to last week's episode, you know it was a tough one. We dug into what it costs us when we get spiritually derailed. But today? Today feels like the other side of that coin—like a deep breath for the soul. This is your reward for hanging in there through the heavy stuff.
So grab your coffee, find your comfy spot, and settle in. Because I want to tell you about what happens when you stop fighting God's design and finally start living in it.
Mornings Used to Be the Worst
Let me be real. There was a time when mornings were my least favorite part of the day. Before my feet even hit the floor, I’d be hit with the weight of toxic conversations, an overwhelming schedule, and the dread of another day filled with plans I didn’t even want.
But something shifted. I started living within the boundaries God set for me—emotionally, spiritually, even socially. I began asking God to help me protect my peace and stay on the track He laid for me. And He showed up. Every day.
Now, I wake up with actual joy. I’m no longer carrying burdens that don’t belong to me. I’m not living in exhaustion from trying to manage everything and everyone. There’s freedom in staying in your lane—and I’m finally in mine.
What Peace Actually Feels Like
You ever come home from a vacation to a clean house, no responsibilities, no one even knowing you're back yet? That deep exhale? That’s what living in God’s design feels like.
It’s not just peaceful—it’s confident. You’re not second-guessing yourself. You’re not over-explaining your choices. You’re not rushing through life on autopilot. You’re home, spiritually and emotionally.
And that feeling of being at home with your Father—knowing He’s got you? That’s the kind of peace you can’t buy. That’s the kind of peace I’ve found.
Boundaries Aren’t Walls
Let’s clear something up. Boundaries are not the same as walls.
Boundaries protect you. Walls isolate you.
A healthy boundary says, “I love you, but I need space to honor what God’s doing in my life.” A wall says, “Nope. No more. You don’t get access to me at all.”
Jesus had boundaries. He said no. He stepped away. He didn’t chase people who rejected Him. He protected His peace, and we’re allowed to do the same.
But walls? Walls usually come from hurt. And when we build them, we often keep out the very healing God wants to give us.
Proverbs tells us to guard our hearts—not harden them.
Before and After
Before I started honoring God’s design for my life, I was drained. Constantly. Emotionally exhausted. Spiritually flat. Always doing, never resting. I thought that made me valuable. Turns out, it just made me burnt out.
Now, I rest without guilt. I unplug on Sundays. I take my full lunch break. I say no without a 3-paragraph explanation. And guess what? My relationships are better. My work is stronger. My joy is deeper. I’m living from a place of peace, not panic.
Confidence in God’s Design
When you live how God designed you to live, you develop what I call holy confidence. You don’t need approval from everybody. You’re not constantly hustling to prove something. You know who you are and whose you are.
Jesus said, “Let your ‘yes’ be yes and your ‘no’ be no.” That’s the kind of clarity and confidence God wants for His daughters.
Rest Is Not a Weakness
Here’s the truth I wish I learned years ago: Rest is part of God’s design. It’s not laziness. It’s not weakness. It’s worship.
When God finished creating the world, He rested—not because He was tired, but because rest is good. Sacred. Holy.
I had to learn that God wasn’t more pleased with me when I was running myself into the ground. He was pleased when I trusted Him enough to rest. And in that rest? I found renewal.
Psalm 23 says He makes us lie down in green pastures and leads us beside quiet waters. That’s not just poetic—it’s practical. But you have to be willing to slow down long enough to get there.
The Ripple Effect of Peace
The most beautiful part of this whole journey? The peace I found didn’t stop with me.
It touched my kids. My friendships. My work. My home.
I was no longer reacting to life—I was responding with grace. I wasn’t surviving my days—I was actually enjoying them. When you live in God’s design, people notice. They may not understand it, but they see it. And it makes them wonder if maybe… just maybe… there’s a better way.
Spoiler alert: There is.
What’s Next?
Next week, we’re getting practical. We’ll talk about how to start setting boundaries, how to say no without guilt, and how to make real space in your life for God to move.
But for now, just remember this:
You’re not too late. You’re not too far gone. The peace I’ve described? The confidence, the clarity, the calm? It’s available to you.
Start with one step. One boundary. One break. And let God take it from there.
You’re not behind. You’re not disqualified.
You’re right on time.
