My Return: A Wake-Up Call and a Reminder of God’s Presence

ree

It feels good to be back. If you’ve noticed my absence, I want to be honest about why I stepped away for a little while. Life threw me a curveball recently, and it’s one of those experiences that reminds you just how fragile life can feel—and just how faithful God truly is.

When My Body Stopped Cooperating

It started on an ordinary Wednesday. I stood up to walk and realized my foot wasn’t working. Fear gripped me immediately—thoughts of a stroke or blood clots rushed through my mind. I was urged to go straight to the ER, and after a whirlwind of tests, doctors ruled out anything neurological and confirmed I didn’t have any clots.

Instead, I was diagnosed with Diabetic Amyotrophy—a condition that causes weakness and nerve pain, and often spreads before it stabilizes. The doctors told me recovery could take months… even up to two years. And even then, I might never fully return to what I was before.

I’ll be honest with you—this was a hard wake-up call. I’ve been negligent with my type 2 diabetes, and this diagnosis shook me to my core.

A Spiritual Reminder

But here’s what God whispered to me in the middle of it all: Your body is not your own—it’s Mine.

1 Corinthians 6:19–20 says:

“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.”

That verse stopped me. My body is His temple. How I treat it matters—not just for me, but for the God who dwells within me.

And when fear crept in, I clung to Isaiah 41:10:

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Even in the hospital, God reminded me that I wasn’t alone. His presence was real. His strength was enough.

A Divine Connection

In that hospital room, God did something else too. He placed the right people in my path at the right time. I met a group of incredible women from a nonprofit called Angels Helping Hands Foundation. Their mission is simple but powerful: to support people facing health, physical, or financial challenges.

It felt like no accident—like God was weaving encouragement into my story just when I needed it most. I’ll be sharing more about their work in the future, because what they’re doing is beautiful.

What I’m Learning

This season is teaching me two things I don’t want to forget:

  1. Take care of what God has given you. That includes your health. Don’t wait for a crisis to force you to change. Steward your body as the temple it is.

  2. God brings the right people at the right time. Whether it’s a nurse, a stranger, a friend, or an organization—He has a way of surrounding us with encouragement and help when we need it most.

A Prayer for All of Us

Lord, thank You for reminding us that our bodies are Your temple and that You care deeply for every detail of our lives. Thank You for strengthening us when we feel weak, and for surrounding us with people who encourage and help us. I pray for healing—not just for me, but for anyone who is struggling with their health right now. Give us the courage to take care of what You’ve entrusted to us, and the faith to trust You every step of the way. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Moving Forward

Thank you for your patience during my absence. I’m catching up now and continuing forward with the 30-Day Challenge. I may be walking a little slower these days, but I’m walking with God.

And truly—that’s enough.

Comments

Welcome.

You’re not late—you’re right on time.

This space was made for the woman who once walked closely with God… and wandered. Meeting Him all over again—with less guilt, more grace, and a real hunger to get it right this time. Or maybe you have questions about what it looks like to live your life according to God's design.

Not polished. Sometimes it’s messy. But it’s honest. And you’re not alone anymore.
