Armored Up: No More Casual Christianity

ree

Podcast Airs August 5th, 2025

There’s no easing into this one.

This isn’t a cozy coffee chat or a feel-good devotional. This is a call to battle.

Because whether you’ve noticed it or not—there’s a spiritual war happening all around us. Right now. Our families are being attacked. Our kids are being spiritually hunted. Our homes, our minds, our hearts—they’re all under fire. And the enemy? He’s not subtle. He’s seductive.

This episode is titled: “Armored Up: No More Casual Christianity.”Because now is not the time for comfort—it’s the time for conviction. Not passivity. But power. And it’s time we use it.

We Are at War

Look around. There’s a war for our souls. For our children’s identities. For the values of the next generation. For our peace. Our marriages. Our minds.

The scary part? Most people don’t even realize they’re standing in the middle of a battlefield.

The evil around us looks beautiful. It sounds progressive. It feels easier. It’s being marketed like “light”—but it’s really darkness dressed up in glitter.

And too many of us are showing up to this battle with nothing more than good intentions and a few Instagram verses.

That’s not enough.

We need armor.

No More Casual Faith

Let me say this clearly:The enemy is not afraid of casual Christians. He’s not scared of Sunday-only believers or bumper stickers that say “blessed.”He is scared of warriors.

Women who pray.Women who know Scripture.Women who fight in the quiet places—who fast, who intercede, and who don’t back down when things get hard.

It’s time to stop coasting. To stop saying, “One day I’ll get serious about God.”

What if “one day” never comes?

Women—We Are on the Front Lines

This one’s for the women listening.

You’re not just a wife.You’re not just a mom.You’re not “just” anything.

You are a spiritual gatekeeper.

You’re the one who prays behind closed doors, fasts when no one sees, rebukes the enemy, and covers your family in a way only you can.

You might not get the thanks. But God sees it.And Heaven records it.

We are warriors. We are watchmen on the wall. And the front lines don’t always look like pulpits. They look like living rooms.

Ephesians 6 – The Armor of God

Let’s go to the Word.Ephesians 6:10–13 (NIV):

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes… so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground.”

⚔️ Here’s what that armor looks like:

  1. Belt of Truth – Hold everything together with God’s truth. Not culture. Not trends. Truth.

  2. Breastplate of Righteousness – Guard your heart. What are you letting in? What are you tolerating?

  3. Shoes of Peace – Be unshakable. Bring peace through standing firm in truth, not through avoiding conflict.

  4. Shield of Faith – Deflect the lies. You will get hit. But faith keeps you standing.

  5. Helmet of Salvation – Your mind is a battlefield. Cover it with who God says you are.

  6. Sword of the Spirit – This is your weapon. The Word. Read it. Speak it. Use it.

This isn’t poetry.It’s strategy.

A Personal Loss – And A Wake-Up Call

Jason and I both lost dear friends recently. And though they never knew each other, we’ve both been grieving hard.

Jason’s friend was 48. He died of cancer. And today, Jason’s attending his funeral.

The look on his face said everything:“It could’ve been me.”

He’s been thinking a lot about what he’s delayed—relationships, conversations, time with loved ones.

Now… there’s no more time.

My friend was 54.A motorcycle accident took him in an instant.

He was bold. Faith-filled.He had a way of stopping everything to pray with people. And during one of the darkest seasons of my life, God used him to lift me up—without him even knowing it.

Both losses rocked us.And reminded us:Our day is coming too.

Matthew 24:36 – We Don’t Know the Hour

“But about that day or hour no one knows…” (Matthew 24:36)

We are not promised tomorrow. We are not promised another chance.

If this stirs something in you—let it.

You have work to do.People to forgive.Prayers to pray.Purpose to fulfill.

Let’s stop waiting.

A Call to Salvation

If today was your last day—are you ready?

Romans 10:9 says:

“If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Not might be.Will be.

Want to pray that right now?

Here’s a simple prayer:

“God, I believe You are real.I believe Jesus died for me and rose again.I ask You to forgive me.Come into my life.Be my Savior.I want to follow You.I surrender. In Jesus’ name—Amen.”

If you prayed that—please reach out.My contact info is in the podcast description. You are not alone.

Let Them See Your Life

To those already walking with Christ—

Don’t shout it.Live it.

Let them see your patience.Let them see your strength.Let them see your obedience.Let them see your peace.

Let them see your life and wonder,“What do you have that I don’t?”

Let your answer be:“I have Jesus. And you can too.”

Final Reflection

Who do you need to forgive?

What’s God calling you to do that you’ve been putting off?

What have you been delaying out of fear?

Let this be your moment.

Final Prayer

God,We don’t want to drift anymore. We want to be awake. We want to be armored up.We want to be ready.

Thank You for loving us—even while we were asleep.Thank You for calling us out of compromise and into purpose.

We lift up the lost.We pray for the hurting. We fight for our families in prayer.

And we say yes.

No more delay.No more fear.Just purpose.Just You.

In Jesus’ name—Amen.

You’re Not Behind

You’re not too late. You’re not disqualified. You’re exactly where God knew you’d be when He started calling you back.

So get up.Armor up.And let’s fight.

Welcome.

You’re not late—you’re right on time.

This space was made for the woman who once walked closely with God… and wandered. Meeting Him all over again—with less guilt, more grace, and a real hunger to get it right this time. Or maybe you have questions about what it looks like to live your life according to God's design.

Not polished. Sometimes it’s messy. But it’s honest. And you’re not alone anymore.
